May Fishing Report For Lake Palestine

Lake Palestine about to bust at the seams high water up on the boat docks stained down south and dirty to muddy up north. Surface temperature range from 70-78 degrees.

Bass are good up shallow on Shimmy Shakers, Big Eye Spinnerbaits and top water lures. Fish slow for best results.

Crappie are still good on the river on jigs 16 ft and now moving up into brushpiles and under the bridges.  Jigs and minnows are best lures.

White Bass are fair on points on Rattle traps.

Catfish at this time are good around docks and rocks. Catfish are also very good on the river on baited holes. Night crawlers and chicken hearts are the best bait.

I still have a few days left in in June so call today at (903) 530-2201

Fishing Report from TPWD (Apr. 10)

GOOD. Water stained; 70 degrees; 0.81 feet above pool. Hybrid stripers are good trolling in the main channel from Eagle's Bluff south to the dam. White bass are returning to the lake, but have not starting school or feed on the surface. Yellow bass are very good. Blue catfish are still very good on cut bait and live, larger minnows. Crappie are still good in the shallows next to reeds, but may be completing their spawn and starting to move to their deeper habitat. Report by Jim Beggerly, Jim’s Fishing.
