Another Record Year at LakePalestine.com with 48% Traffic Growth

LakePalestine.com experienced another record-breaking year in 2013 with over 53,000 visits and 238,000 page views, up over 48% from 2012. Since the launch in 2008 LakePalestine.com has received 845,000 page views from over 100,000 unique visitors. As the top organic Google search result for nearly all "Lake Palestine" searches, LakePalestine.com is well established as the most popular online resource for Palestine area visitors, weekenders and residents seeking lake area news, events, weather, real estate, lodging, lake levels and much more. In 2013, real estate remained the most highly trafficked section of the site with lodging and marinas as the 2nd and 3rd most popular. The camping section generated the most traffic growth as page views were up 109% from 2012. Reaching More Visitors Outside Texas It appears that the Palestine area is benefitting from the net migration to Texas. "Our traffic from outside Texas really started picking up in 2013", says Cassidy Lackey, founder of LakePalestine.com. "Traffic from California, New York, Louisiana, California and Florida posted 80% growth over 2012." Still, most visits originate from within Texas with the top visitor locations as Dallas, Houston, Tyler, Austin, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Longview, Plano, Arlington and Waco. Mobile Becoming Increasingly Important Traffic from smartphones and tablets continues to grow at a tremendous pace. Mobile device traffic was up 125% in 2013 and now accounts for nearly 40% of the visits to LakePalestine.com. "The recent site redesign better serves visitors accessing the site via all mobile devices," says Lackey. "Enabling a seamless browsing experience across desktop, tablet and smartphone devices is critical to a successful internet business these days." Visitors Skipping the Search Engines The site experienced a 268% increase in "direct" traffic from 2012 to 2013. This is a significant achievement as it demonstrates an increasing percentage of visitors are skipping the search engine altogether and simply typing "LakePalestine.com" in their browsers. "Clearly we are becoming the go-to site for Palestine area news, events, weather, real estate, vacation rentals and travel information," says Lackey. Exciting Plans for 2014 Look for some exciting new features planned for LakePalestine.com during 2014. "We are working on some great stuff for 2014 including more social integration and user-generated content." says Lackey. "Imagine LakePalestine.com as the portal for all the information you want to share and consume about the lake area." Business Owners - Don't Miss Out! January has started off with a bang so we expect LakePalestine.com to reach over 80,000 unique visitors in 2014. This creates an incredible opportunity for lake area businesses to reach local residents, weekenders and visitors starting at just $25/mo. No other media can reach lake area visitors at the critical moment they plan their trip. Advertising information can be found at LakePalestine.com/advertising.
