Stephen Proctor of Pryor, Oklahoma, caught Toyota ShareLunker 549 from Lake Fork on November 21. Proctor caught the 13.29-pound bass from 18 feet of water on four-pound line while fishing for crappie under the Texas 154 bridge. He was using a Panfish Assassin lure.
Trout fishing season in Texas is here again. TPWD stocks rainbow trout in more than 100 lakes and rivers as part of the Neighborhood Fishin' program. Stocking begins in late November or early December and continues until March. Lakes receive the most frequent stockings, but many other sites get one or two deliveries of this popular fish.
Best baits for the trout are cheese, kernel corn, nightcrawlers, red wigglers, and meal worms. If you'd rather use a lure, try a small inline spinnerbait or a spoon.
